Should i get a 1972 302 V8 engine?

So i have a 63 fairlane 500 with a 260 v8 and a 3 speed manual and i want to get a 302 for it. i found a 1972 302 out of a car(dont know what kinda car) and i was wondering if a 72 302 is worth puting time and money into? are they good engines?
