Should i modify the exterior of my Scion tc 2008 without touching the engine and still be cool?

i really wanna change the stock but can only do exterior cause interior cost too much right now for my age. I am 16 and don't like the stock of tc everyone says my car is girly looking and i want a paint job full body kit and spoilers, and vertical doors. Will the exterior appearances help my rep.
