Have I done gone a bit too far?

OK the girl I like called me today with her friend which I was not expecting at all. Midway through our "riveting" conversation, she asked a couple of questions about why I like her, answered, and I'm guessing she didn't appreciate my affection and said "hey you want to go out with my friend? She really likes you" and her friend played along and since I'm a nice guy I was automatically declared her boyfriend. I ABSOLUTELY knew she was lying because a girl wouldn't be caught dead with me. So I made a plan and sent a text to like 10 of my friends say to tell everyone they know that I'm going out with the girl I like's friend so that she'd be so embarred that she'd admit she'd been lying. So my question to you is, have I gone too far?
